I use stoneware (gres) and earthenware for my pieces. All pieces are hand-made using the slab or coiling technique (so not wheel-thrown). Shiny color effects are obtained by applying industrial glazes on white stoneware and by electric kiln firing at 1250 degrees. Alternatively, the natural look of stoneware is preserved by adding only one color engobe- black or brown- for low temperature firing.
